My Emails - must read

I get Nasty emails from all over and heres a Sample of Them.

From JEFF SPRADLING, Sugar Land, Tx. received Wed. 4-19-06

Damn… I’m in Sugarland and need some pistol work done. But after reading your arrogant shit filled web page I think I’ll find someone else. I have to admit that this is the first time I’ve seen a web page drive away business… you need help dude.

I do need to apologize for my first email to you, it was very unprofessional. You were recommended to me by two people. But your website is rather… arrogant. But I am sorry, it was not my place to criticize it or to use the words that I did. Please accept my apology Sir.

Have a nice day.

Oh gosh, quit bragging… that’s what’s wrong with your site don’t you get it? You’re not the greatest man on earth, or the best smith on the planet (trust me). 2 people recommended you, but 10 said stay away. Do the math. I went to your site and decided to go with the 10.

Sir, I don’t want or need to be a customer of yours… really. Otherwise, I would have not sent the first email. Right?

I only apologized for my conduct in my first email because it was inappropriate and it’s not like me to do that to someone. My fault. Your business and site are your affair. I should not have commented but I did. I said I was sorry, and you did not accept my apology so that’s that. I really don’t care.

So, let’s let this be the end to the conversation please. I tip my hat and say good bye.

I’m sorry I bothered you. Please go work on your… over a hundred different models… yeah, whatever.

I GET MAIL FROM IGNORANT PEOPLE LIKE THIS EVERY DAY. THEY DESERVE TO BE TAKEN AND THEY USUALLY ARE. MY ONLY INTENT OF MY WEBSITE AND MY BLOGGERS HAS BEEN TO HELP THE POOR SCHMUCK FROM BEING RIPPED OFF.

MOST PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SMART ENOUGH TO REALIZE HOW HARD I HAVE WORKED TO HELP THEM EVEN THOUGH I AM IN DECLINING HEALTH.

PLEASE GO TO www.truthaboutparts.blogspot.com

I am a trigger specialist. I AM NOT A GENERAL GUNSMITH... I work on over 100 different models of handguns. I am the only one in NORTH AMERICA that just does this and have for the past 25 years. I told Karl at the factory how to improve the Guardian, they are not listening because they just work there and just don't get it. They should not be using an "E" ring. They should be making grips out of G10 laminate. THEY SHOULD USE SNAP RINGS... They should be using a SINGLE flat wire recoil spring made out of Chrome Silicon wire, like the Glock pistols. Its all about money.

YOU DO NOT CUT CROOKED FILE LINES TO BORDER YOUR STIPPLING AND YOU DO NOT BEAD BLAST STIPPLING AS YOU JUST RUIN THE GRIP YOU WANT WITH THE STIPPLING AND ON AND ON AND ON. AN ARMORER IS AN ARMORER IS AN ARMORER.

I can not expect all of you to understand me, but many will. They know I care. I am not a gunsmith I am a trigger specialist. If ERH thinks this is superb work hes seen then he best not quit his day job. You tell me why you need sights on a gun that is for up close and personal work at 2 to 5 feet. You want to improve the Guardian use lands and grooves in the bore that are deeper and or a polygonal type bore like the HK P7 M8. SO WHAT IF THEY CHARGE MORE MONEY.

I would pay the additional cost for one. You can not design by committee or by sales people that think they are another John M. Browning. Please do not take offense but many of you understand but there are still many that can not see the forrest for the trees. Larry Seecamp was right by not putting sights on his tiny 32 semi auto. His Seecamp is very poor internally.

I like the Guardian and I own one but I like the mini revolver better. I removed the sights off my Guardian. If you look at your night sights on your Guardian see if they are banged on with a punch, this is very wrong. See if your front sight is pinned in a blind hole, this is very wrong, how will you get the pin out because the sight is on the barrel and the pin is in the barrel. So your eye for detail is questionable.... Have a good day. Teddy

Thanks for all you nice comments. I will no longer have any more to say about improving your handguns regardless of who makes them. I have tried to point out the very obvious flaws that I can easily see and most of you can not. I HAVE TRIED TO HELP YOU FOR THE LAST TIME.

Every factory knows they have degraded their product for Benjamin Franklin. Its really none of my business because I only do limited work at this time for select people that go in harms way. ALWAYS REMEMBER THERE IS NO EJECTOR IN THESE SEMI AUTO MOUSE GUNS.

As for the Seecamp being gouged in the chamber, I certainly know about why they do it but its done very crudly and by an amateur armorer. I have worked on about 35 to 50 Seecamps, I used to own one but if you saw the internals from my eyes you would under stand, you do not know what quality is, that is not your fault.

We live in a world of throw away products and not many care anymore. Soon you will be able to buy your favorite WINCHESTER that is MADE IN CHINA. I hope you continue to buy your favorite Guardian and or Seecamp. I certainly do not care and I will only help those that are decent and honorable. Point of Note to clarify, I think I originally sent Carl information on MICARTA for grips that comes in all colors. It does not matter, they as all people will do what they want.

All companies lose when ever a gun is returned for repair on warranty, shipping costs are sky high... when they do this their profits go down to nothing. I will no longer post here and try to educate you, those that know me can call me and they already know I will always help them as I did in the past. Most of you do not want to learn because you not only want to justify your purchase and the money you have already spend.

To learn more you will have to read my bloggers. It seems those that complain about refining the cost of a Guardian sure seem to find enough money to buy two or three Guardians. I will go a step further and say we have already lost the industrial power of our country and the very worst is yet to come. Have a good day. Teddy Jacobson - Pistolsmith

"I AM NOT TRYING TO INSULT ANYONE BUT "IT IS WHAT IT IS" JUST LOOK INTO THE CHAMBER OF A 32 CALIBER SEECAMP AND SEE HOW THEY FINISH IT AND YOU TELL ME WHY AS YOU SEEM TO KNOW SO MUCH. HOW MANY SEECAMPS HAVE YOU WORKED ON ???"

I think the question RJ was indirectly asking was how many have you worked on? I dislike intruding here because I promised myself I would not post again on forums other than my own, but I'd just like to point out that a rough chamber is part of the LWS design. Without a rough chamber the small .380 we make would be impossible.

Our pistol is a retarded blowback as differentiated from a straight blowback. If we made a straight blowback the weight of our pistols would be heavier. Criticising us for our chamber finish is kind of like criticising the 1911 for loosely mounting the barrel to the frame by way of a link instead of firmly attaching it to the frame.

It's part of the design The roughness of the chamber compensates for the lack of slide mass. When a round is fired the case expands into an anular ring. When pressure subsides the case resumes some of its original shape and is ejected. Ammunition fired from our pistols is therefore not good for reloads.

The cases have been stretched and occasionally are bulged at the corresponding hollowed out area in the chamber. This system is very old. There is literature on it including information put out by us. Apparently it is something you missed reading. (ITS CRUDE AT BEST, my opinion...TJ) None of us can know everything. I know people who have dealt with Ken Friel and I have heard nothing but good things about him regarding his firearms knowledge and competency.

I truly expect that the work done at the NAA custom shop is everything advertised. (ITS OBVIOUS YOU DO NOT KNOW QUALITY,opinion by TJ) NAA enthusiasts have their following. We have ours. I do not presume to say our customers are smarter or better informed than NAA customers. Some people like Coke, some people like Pepsi. I apologize for the intrusion here but I think the chamber statement needed to be addressed.

MY ANSWER TO LARRY SEECAMP IS AS FOLLOWS: YOU NEED TO TAKE BUSINESS COURSE 101A, BECAUSE YOU HAD NO CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPT. AND PEOPLE WERE CALLING ME ALL THE TIME COMPLAINING ABOUT THEIR DEFECTIVE SEECAMP. THEY CALLED YOU AND GOT AN ANSWERING MACHINE WHERE YOU COULD NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE AND WROTE YOU LETTERS AND GOT NO RESPONSE. WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD WANT TO BUY A GUN FROM A COMPANY WITH THIS TYPE OF SERVICE POLICY. THESE 32 CALIBER SEECAMPS WERE GOING FOR $900.00 MANY YEARS AGO AT THE LARGE HOUSTON GUN SHOWS, I WAS THERE AND SAW THE EXCHANGE OF MONEY IN THAT AMOUNT.

IN MY WORKING LIFE I HAVE NEVER EXCEEDED A 1% RETURN RATE FOR ANYTHING I EVER WORKED ON BECAUSE OF INFERIOR WORK. WHAT IS YOUR RETURN RATE ???. IT WAS USUALLY A MAGAZINE RELATED PROBLEM IN MY CASE.

I helped all SEECAMP OWNERS the best I could at the time. If you were to have the attention to detail and used magnification you would then see how crude your internals were. BUT ON SECOND THOUGHT I DO NOT BELIEVE YOU HAVE THE OLD WORLD CRAFTSMANS EYE, IN MY OPINION ITS ALL ABOUT MR. BENJAMIN FRANKLIN. This is a gift that only true craftsman have. I very seldom see a Seecamp pistol anymore as I still do limited trigger work on over 100 different models of handguns but I do speak from experience when I call them crude inside. There is no way a person can ever understand the "AFTER" unless they have seen it. ALL THEY GET FROM YOU OR NAA IS THE "BEFORE". All my actions are like a jeweled movement internally.

HAVING A NICE EXTERIOR FINISH IS FINE BUT IT IS WHAT IS ON THE INSIDE OF A GUN THAT COUNTS AND MY ONLY AGENDA IS TO FIGHT FOR AND PROTECT THE HONEST GUN OWNER THAT IS GETTING SHAFTED BY TODAY'S ARMORERS AND FACTORY WORKERS AND SO CALLED GUNSMITHS AND FACTORY OWNERS THAT SUFFER FROM GREED AT THE EXPENSE OF THE GUN OWNER WANTING TO PROTECT LIFE AND PROPERTY.. WANT TO SEE REALITY GO TO

www.truthaboutparts.blogspot.com/

How can a gun owner trust their life to people that get low pay and or work on commission only. Unless a worker really produces quantity he gets very little money on payday and when he goes to a food store like KROGER, he goes alone to pay for his groceries.

I have spoken with you on the phone many years ago but after that I wrote you a letter that you ignored, I have a very good memory and I think your little pistol has a use in this world if the owner treats it for its intended purpose as a last ditch survival weapon. It is not meant to shoot 100 or 200 or 300 or 400 or 500 rounds per week. The fact that your 32 has no sights is a good thing and most every manufacturer is motivated by marketing. Talking someone into paying $250.00 or whatever for a set of night sights is crazy in my opinion. MY ONLY CONCERN IS THE SAFETY AND WELFARE OF THE PERSON CARRYING A HANDGUN.

A MAGAZINE SAFETY IN MY OPINION DOES NOT BELONG ON THESE GUNS, ITS USUALLY "LAWYERS" THAT MAKE COMPANIES PUT ON SAFETIES THAT ARE WORTHLESS.

NAA Guardian

BUY CHEAP WIRE SPRINGS AND THIS IS WHAT YOU GET, WHAT IS YOUR LIFE WORTH ?? ONLY YOU CAN PUT A PRICE ON IT.

I am bummed my trigger spring broke , now my gun is not old under 1k rounds no corrosives sprayed down into it or anything like that (i spray cleaned firing pin with slide off gun and sprayed to reoil) but if that effected a spring should be the firing pin spring.

I read the boards and one review at least where people had the same experience, early failure of this spring even at times with a brand new gun. I could have sent it back, and get NAA to put in a new spring, but I ordered up some spare parts before it broke ( I like having parts and things before i need them or they become hard or impossible to get) so luckily i was covered.

I can't say the mechanism or failure gives me confidence, the draw bar looks pretty secure as does everything, except this return spring, but broke is broke and at 1k rounds at most? I can't say it instills any confidence. had it broken at a place that was possibly pinched or was likely to have been at some point I would shrug it off, but it broke near the back of the magazine.

which might get hit by the magazine being installed, but there is no way around that and i don't slam or force magazines. i looked over my mags and don't feel any burrs that might have cut into the spring. I am wondering if someone has found a better spring material or came up with a better way all together?

I bought reportedly NIB and by the looks of it I think that is true? possibly someone glass beaded (or what ever the finish is there?) the slide area and top and it was not new? my gun store seems ok, I am sure by law they can't tell you NIB if its used, but I learned for every rule ,someone finds a way around it or doesn't obey it.

i recently bought the pocket slipper and 10 round mag and bought some spare parts. I was thinking of having the trigger done, if I cant find a real solution I am satisfied with.

I shall soon have a post offering the pocket slipper and everything for sale at a pretty reasonable price or sell it locally or something like that. I hear keltec and the other true pocket guns are less reliable.

rohrburg sounds expensive and with maybe weaknesses of its own. well maybe its all a opputunity? someone here will tell me a better way and it will be bullet proof I hear the newer parts have a ground tranfer bar.

(so your trigger spring will not get caught and weakened? ) mine is a AD serial number and i am hoping maybe there was just a bad batch of springs or that since then they have upgraded the spring in some way? it looks like regular music wire of about .030 dia?

well please let me if you have had any similar experiences and how did you get it solved, replacing and praying it a abberitition is well what i allready did, but till I get an idea of why, I will never feel real confident in it
.................................................................................................................

I PERSONALLY TRIED TO GET NAA TO BUY A PREMIUM WIRE SPRING FOR ALL THEIR GUARDIANS BUT THEY REFUSED SO NOW THEY PAY THE PRICE AND RISK YOUR LIFE.

Do you really think these companies care about you or their profit margin. Its a sad story but they knew better from day 1 in my opinion. The quicker the owner stops listening to the bean counters that know nothing the quicker he will not only make a better Guardian and instill confidence in his semi auto but will stop getting new guns back for warranty repair. He has in my opinion some very inferior workers. Hes just giving his profit to UPS and FED EX. I DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR PEOPLE LIKE THIS THAT ARE SO GREEDY.

THESE ARE MY OPINIONS ONLY.

I'll start with the good stuff... "It looks truly beautiful." I had a standard (Not Big) XS Dot tritium set installed with a scalloped slide, all apointments polished, front & rear strap stippled, and a set of Cocobolo checkered grips installed. (I'm not sure I like the new grips; they make my .380 almost as thick as a 2x4..!, But Man Do They Look Good..!; same story w/ the Cocobolo's on my G.32acp..)

Now the not so good: "I got it back without the e-clip installed behind the grip panel...(Ughh!!) Anyway, after a quick phone call Jennifer @ NAA overnighted me a new eclip w/ a couple of spares to boot. It works well (100 rounds of "Silvertips" w/ out a snag. My G.380acp now has a distinct "Gravely spot, or notch" about 1/2 way through an average trigger squeeze;

I'm really bummed out about that because my G.32acp came back from Carl @ NAA with a simply great trigger, and as I've said "My customized G.380acp did not come back w/ a nicer trigger;

it's actually worse than it was before I sent it in."

The one good thing I can say in that regard is that I'm relatively certain that when I give them a call next week to explain, they will undoubtedly offer to get it right the 2nd time...!!??

Volume 18• Number 4 • April 2006A Trio of Pocket .380 ACPs: Steer Clear of NAA’s Guardian

Instead, depending on your needs, pick the slightly larger but fully functional Beretta Cheetah. Also, we loved aspects of S&W’s PPK, but it didn’t work during some parts of our test.

In a life-threatening situation any firearm is better than none, and a small, pocket-size gun is often more likely to be carried than anything bigger. The Beretta 85 FS Cheetah ($575, above) was a busy-looking handful, but all the controls worked well.Whether or not the .380 ACP cartridge is your cup of tea, it exists in large numbers of available handguns today.

Some of today’s most modern ammunition make this cartridge a better one than it was, say, 30 years ago, but we would still not consider it for a main defensive weapon because we feel there are better caliber choices. Even the .45 ACP can be had in small packages.

We decided to look at a few of the .380 pocket pistols available, never mind the relative worth of the cartridge. After all, in a life-threatening situation any firearm is better than none, and a small, pocket-size gun is often more likely to be carried than anything bigger. We got a PPK Walther ($543), no...
