The biggest difference between them is price.
If memory serves me correctly, you can buy 2 Guardians for the price of 1 Seecamp.

COMMENTS BY TEDDY JACOBSON:
YOU CAN BUY 2 (TWO) KEL-TECS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE NAA GUARDIAN.
MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT MY FEELINGS TOWARD NORTH AMERICAN ARMS, I LIKE THEIR MINI REVOLVERS AND THE PERSON THAT WORKS ON THEM AT THE NAA FACTORY IN PROVO, UTAH KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING.
I WOULD NOT HESITATE TO BUY ANY MINI REVOLVER THAT WAYNE MARTIN OF NAA HAS WORKED ON.
ON THE OTHER HAND I PERSONALLY WOULD NOT EVER BUY ONE OF THESE NEWLY REDESIGNED "GUARDIANS" UNTIL THEY HAVE BEEN OUT ON THE MARKET FOR AT LEAST 2 (TWO) YEARS. THEY CAN NEVER USE ME FOR AN EXPERIMENT AGAIN.
THE ORIGINAL DESIGN IN MY OPINION IS VERY POOR AND THE SPRINGS ARE WORTHLESS. THE BEST THING THE NAA GUARDIAN HAD GOING FOR IT OVER ANY COMPETITION WAS THE TAKE DOWN ASSEMBLY BUT EVEN THAT WAS SUB CONTRACTED OUT AND IT BECAME AN INFERIOR PART.
ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY. THE OWNER OFF NAA HAS KNOWN ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS FOR YEARS. WHY IS HE IN SUCH A PANIC NOW ?? HIS MINI REVOLVERS ARE EXCELLENT AND HE SHOULD IN MY OPINION STAY IN THE MINI REVOLVER BUSINESS AND GET RID OF THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE STEERED HIM WRONG.
THERE IS NO POINT IN CASTING A FRAME AND BARREL IN ONE PIECE. IF HE WANTED THE BEST CASTING MONEY COULD BUY HE SHOULD HAVE GONE TO THE COMPANY THAT RUGER USES AS THEY ARE THE BEST. BUT WHEN YOU LOOK FOR BARGAINS AND CUT CORNERS, BANKRUPCY IS A REALITY.
THESE COMMENTS THAT ARE WRITTEN ARE MY OPINION AND MY VIEWPOINT ONLY BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE SINCE THE EARLY 1970'S. I HAVE FORGOTTEN MORE THAN THEY KNOW ABOUT INTERNAL ACTION WORK.

Hello all- Went to the range for the first time today with the G32. After I cleaned/lubed/etc. I brought with me 2 boxes of 71g. Win FMJ. to give it a good test and to break it in a little. From my prev. posts, this gun only had 10 or so rounds through it. Here are my results: 1st clip: 2 fired OK. Next 2 - feed issues. Nose up in barrel. The tip was stuck directly up from the feed ramp on top of the barrel. The top of the rear was stuck right under the fire pin. If that makes any sense. Im sure there is some "word" for it but I dont know it. After this clip, I couldnt get more than 2 rounds off without this happening. Issue #2 - Most of the time the above happened but there was another issue. The exact opposite. Tip down, jammed into feed ramp.....butt of round stuck above firing pin. I asked the range master to take a look and he advised the mag spring seemed to be OK and was not sure what the issue was. He tried to fire it a few times and had the same result. The only thing he suggested is to fire a few hundred rounds through it and see if that helps. Well that’s fine but with a jam every 2 rounds, that’s going to take a while. I understand "breaking in" a gun but don’t you think this is a little odd??? He also suggested that I take a look at polishing the feed ramp - even though it looks good. Also to use Fed. Hydra-Shock with a little more power behind them to see if that works. I don’t want to use HP due to penetration issues with the .32. Not to mention the cost of Fed. Hydra-Shocks. What do you all think?? Again, I don’t want a project gun that I have to send off to NAA all the time to get tweaked. Maybe I am lucky....I also bought a Taurus PT-111 Pro 9mm a few months back and that gun is the best I have ever had. No issues at all......and I have almost 1000 round through it. New it was only $325.00. The NAA new is over $400.00. Out of apx. 50 rounds - I would say 30 had an issue. Not a great confidence builder at all. I love the fit and feel of this little gun but do not want a project gun by any means.

Your experience sounds similar to mine with a new .380Guardian. I sent it to NAA, they kept it for a little over a week, then returned it. It shoots fine now. I agree that FTF/FTE with a newly acquired pistol is frustrating, but it can probably be fixed. Your description of the problems seems beyond merely breaking it in. sopsax

Brad, Thanks for letting us know how your G32 worked out. Maybe that's why the previous owner traded it in. My experience is similar to Sopsax's. My brand new G380 had horrible extraction problems about every second or third round. I shipped it back to NAA and after about 3 months they sent me a whole new gun, which has performed flawlessly for several hundred rounds since. (The delay was due to the fact that they simply didn't have a new gun to give me for that long.) I guess I would bite the bullet and send it back to NAA. In my admittedly limited experience they will fix it right the first time. Hopefully with the changes in Guardian production they are moving in the direction of making guns that work right out of the box. You might call Carl at NAA first and talk with him. Could be a magazine problem (it seems to me they changed the mag design early on) so it may not be necessary to return the gun to them. Good luck, John_Q

Send the firearm back to NAA for repair. Shipping information and the Customer Information Form can be found on the technical assistance page of this website. Repairs on Guardians generally take three to four weeks (in some cases sooner- depending on the diagnosis). Please call the customer service department at 1-800-821-5783. We'll be happy to assist you any way we can.

In the past, I had to send my Guardian .32 in for issues as well. Everybody replying to your post is right on the mark and I couldn't agree more. NAA will do you right. If the fix works you can keep the gun with confidence, and if you decide to trade 'er in later on, at least you wouldn't be passing on your problems to the next guy.

Brad: I would send the pistol back to the factory for diagnosis and correction of the problem. NAA will make it right. I may have more patience in such matters than many other experienced shooters, but I personally don't mind giving a handgun a second or even a third chance if it shows vices out of the box. I've had only one pistol, a foreign-made 1911 clone acquired back in my Army years, which proved to be an incurable "jammomatic." I finally gave the POS to a gunsmith for whatever spare parts he could salvage from it.

We bought our guns about the same time. I am the one who had the mag releasing during firing. They sent me a new mag release button assembly. I also sent my slide back because the night sights on the gutter sniping were very weak. They have replaced the night sights and I should have the slide back soon and hopefully the assembly they sent me will of fixed the mag releasing. I would call and speak to Carl first he really knows these guns and Jennifer is great to deal with as well.

The g32 went back to NAA this morning. I ment to do it last week but life got in the way. Per Carl's email, he advised they would fix everything and polish out a few minor scratches on the slide. I will keep everyone posted on how things go. Thanks for all who replied.

My little G32 is back from a visit to the shop. WOW....Naa is extreamly fast. They had it back to me in a little over a week. Looking at the "invoice" - looks like they replaced everything. Carl said he would buff out any scratches on the slide also. Not sure if they did that or replaced the whole thing. My G32 was an AAxxxx production - with the "fancy" guardian written on the slide. Now it is the newer block writing. Replaced everything - I mean they replaced everything but the frame - even the grips. Last but not least - they included (3) free mags. NAA is the finest example of excellent customer service I have seen in a long long time. Now - I wouldnt hesitate buying more NAA products. Thank you NAA and please keep up the fine work. OK OK maybe the most important part - put 50 rounds of Fiocchi 73g through it without failure.

Brad, Get rid of taht junk. Same happen to my NAA 380. Sent it twice to NAA, came back with same malfunctions. Should something new out of the box FTF/FTE NAA, fix your pistol's mechanics or stop selling junk! So called "looking cute" doesn't cut it! I spent nearly $600 dollars trying to make my NAA 380 Gaur. work. I had to sell it for $250! That's $350.00 down the drain!

Brad... Thanks for the update on your Guardian and the service provided by NAA. My Guardian has also been running at 100%. Regardless of the cost or complexity of a machine, there will always be things that are not perfect. It is a measure of the company how they address that issue. I have found NAA, Kel-Tec, and Seecamp just to name a few, to be absolutely first-rate in their service. The customer service provided by some of the big-bucks pistol manufacturers has been, IMHO, abyssmal. They shall remain nameless, as I consider namecalling on this forum to be in poor taste.

Never having used the customer service of NAA or Seecamp I cannot comment though i hear good things. I bought a used Smith and Wesson airweight 38 Used, sent it back to Smith and Wesson to see if i could get the finish redone and was contacted by them that there was a crack in the frame and they replaced the gun for free, even allowing me to pick a bodyguard instead of the centennial frame of the original gun. I was willing to pay extra to get a bodyguard but they just shipped it out . |
